Setting up an Autopilot campaign starts with the basics about your brand and product, then flows straight into building your brief. Everything you enter here feeds the AI Brief Builder — so the more context you give, the better your brief. Every submission is checked by AI against your brief, and approved videos are queued for testing as paid ads, so clarity is everything.
Getting Started
To create a new Autopilot campaign:
Go to your dashboard
Click Autopilot Campaigns in the left sidebar
Click New Campaign
Choose your platform: Instagram or TikTok
Fill in the basic information
You'll move through these steps in the left-hand menu: Get Started → Additional Details → Inspirational Content → Create Brief → Resources → Performance Budget.
Want to run on both TikTok and Instagram? Each campaign runs on one platform. Simply duplicate your campaign and choose the other platform.
Get Started
Platform — Instagram or TikTok. This is where creators publish their content and where your videos are tested as ads.
Campaign name — Choose a clear, descriptive title that tells creators what the campaign is about. Keep it simple and direct — "Fitness App Video Ads" is better than "App Videos."
Industry — Select the industry (or industries) that fit your brand. This helps attract creators who specialize in your niche.
Website — Enter your website URL so creators can learn more about your brand.
Describe your product and who it's for — Choose Generate with AI to have the AI pull a first-draft description straight from your website, or Write your own to enter it manually. Either way, you can edit the result. This description is used to help generate your brief and is not visible to creators, so be specific about what makes your product unique.
Who can participate — Choose the countries and regions eligible for your campaign.
Product imagery — Upload an image that represents your campaign — this is what creators see when browsing campaigns. Recommended: 9:16 aspect ratio, 512×1024px, max 5MB. Drag and drop or browse to upload.
Additional Details
This is where Autopilot differs from other campaign types. Besides giving the AI more to work with, these details tell us what your ads should achieve and where to send people.
Product Name — The name you want creators to say in the video.
Product Type — Select the type that best describes what you're offering (for example, a mobile app or a website).
Target URL — Where people go when they interact with your ad:
For apps, add your App Store URL and/or Google Play URL (recommended for apps)
For websites, add your Website URL
Selling points — Highlight the key features, benefits, and problems your product solves. Add at least one — these directly help the AI understand your product and help creators make videos that convert.
Call To Action — Tell creators what call to action to say in their content, for example "Download the app" or "Tap the link to try it free."
Allow AI Generated Submissions (optional) — Toggle this on if you want to allow creators to use AI-generated elements in their submissions. It's off by default.
Tip: Make sure your Target URL is correct and live before you launch. Every click and install from your ads goes there. Links must start with https://.
Add Inspiration Content
Inspiration content is one of the most important steps — it shows creators what success looks like and powers the AI Brief Builder.
We recommend adding at least one TikTok or Instagram link so the AI can generate the best brief. Other links can also be added and will be visible to creators.
Click Add inspiration, then either upload a video or paste a link. For each piece of inspiration, add a note answering "What specifically do you love about this piece of content?" so the AI understands what you like about it.
Where to find inspiration:
TikTok
Instagram Reels
YouTube Shorts
Facebook/Meta Ads Library
Content from your portfolio
Tips for choosing inspiration:
Look for videos with high engagement in your niche
Check what your competitors are running as ads and see what's working for them
Find content that educates, entertains, or sparks curiosity
Add 3 to 5 examples with notes on why each one works
Create Your Brief
The Create Brief step is where your brief comes together. This is the main body creators will read — and that the AI will use to automatically approve or reject submissions.
You have two options:
Option 1: Generate with AI
Click Generate with AI to have the AI Brief Builder create your brief automatically. It pulls from everything you've entered — your product details, selling points, call to action, and inspiration content — to generate a complete, structured brief, fine-tuned for your brand.
Learn more about how this works in our AI Brief Builder article.
Option 2: Start with a Template
Choose Start with template to begin from a pre-built structure. Replace each placeholder with your own content and edit freely in the text editor. Use the formatting tools to add headers, bullet points, links, and more.
What to include in your brief:
What your product is and why users love it
Key features to highlight (keep it focused — don't overload)
The style and format you're looking for
Hooks and angles that work well
The call to action you want in the video
Tip: Give creators free access to your product. Creators make better videos when they've actually used what they're promoting. If your product is paid, offer free access — for example a promo code, a free subscription or a test account — and explain in your brief how creators can get it. Easy access helps more creators take part in your campaign.
Why Brief Quality Matters for Autopilot
With Autopilot campaigns, your brief does two jobs:
It controls what gets approved. Submissions are automatically approved or rejected by AI based on how well they follow your brief.
It drives your ad results. Approved videos enter a queue sorted by quality and the results of your previous submissions, and the most promising ones are tested as paid ads. Videos with a strong hook and a clear call to action get more clicks and installs — and that's what Autopilot scales.
Clear briefs = more approved content that matches your vision and performs as an ad
Vague briefs = inconsistent content, more rejections, and weaker ad results
Keep It Focused
Don't overload creators with too many details. Focus on:
A strong hook in the first 3 seconds
The core feature that will entice viewers to click
One clear call to action that matches where your ad sends people
The goal is to drive clicks and installs, not to explain every detail in the video. Let your app store page or website do the deeper explaining.
Next Steps
Once your brief is ready, click Next to add the resources creators can use in their content.
